About Juan J Ruano

Juan J Ruano began his career with the Miami-Dade Police Department in 1987.  During the course of his career, he was an investigator he was assigned to the Midwest District General Investigations Unit, Sexual Crimes  Bureau, the Public Corruption Bureau, the Homeland Security Bureau and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force.

In 2009 he was one of the founding forensic video analysts of the Miami Dade Police Department’s Forensic Video Unit (FVU).  He was in the FVU until his retirement in 2016.  He continues being a part of the FVU today as a reserve police officer/forensic video analyst.  He is a LEVA certified Forensic Video Analyst.

During the course of his career, he has been involved in various high profile investigations and has testified numerous times.
